When I first started taking photos, I would take 50 shots of any given subject, delete 30 once I saw them on the computer, then pore over the remaining 20 until I found the one or two that were close enough to perfect. Then I would spend two hours editing them in Photoshop before posting them online. My galleries were carefully-selected snapshots, an entire vacation boiled down to a dozen unrelated images, each with a line or two of commentary.
I'm older now, which means I'm both less patient and more relaxed. So, from now on, I'm just going to pick three or four or six images from every set I take, and have them on their own pages with little thumbnails, and all the rest of the photos from the set are just going to be linked in an open directory for you to browse at your leisure. The sets themselves will also be organized more by chronology than subject: if I take a bunch of snapshots of Willow Creek during the winter, instead of adding them to the old Swan's Road section, I'll just create a new area for them.
