What's a Lokys?

1. A Lithuanian noun, which translates to "bear."

2. A restaurant in Vilnius, "known for a fine flavor of history of Lithuania," which seems to translate to beaver stew and boar chops.

3. This website, being the personal domain of me, Kate Morris. Which, in practical terms, translates to a randomly-updated blog, photos of trees, Terragen renders, arty wanky litwank essays, and several old gaming articles (with the notable exception of an Icewind Dale review).

This site is updated when I feel like it, includes whatever I feel like including, and exists for the entertainment of myself and a few close friends. Other visitors are welcome, as is feedback, but neither is required. If a link is broken, assume it's in the process of moving. Or simply isn't there yet. Or maybe it just doesn't *feel* like being there today.

Lokys.net is powered by Drupal 5.0, using an entirely vanilla default theme. I could have chosen to spend hours trying to hack my way through editing graphics and .css files, like I did with the old version, but after some considering, I thought "why bother?" I don't know enough about that sort of thing to make something from scratch, and anyone who would actually turn their nose up at me for using a standard theme would recognize a simple re-skin anyway. If you want sexy websites, I know a guy who can do them. Me, I just write sometimes. And if the words aren't worth reading as they are, no amount of flash will improve their appeal.
